On a hill by the Tyrrhenian Sea, a surreal tale unfolds as odd characters reflect on human folly and nature's decline.

On a hill overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, near the ancient city of Tarquinia, a grim castle owner trumpets patriotic slogans from his ragged Fiat Panda, while the local priest shoots anything beyond his understanding. As immigrant choirs and peasant philosophers ponder Hegel, Balthazar, the philosophical donkey, and his hybrid companion—a half-human, half-plant being—sardonically reflect on human folly. MIDAS' ANTS is a surreal journey through history’s turning points, exploring the moments when our relationship with nature began to spiral out of control - inspired by the myth of King Midas and his insatiable greed.
