From Farm To Fabric – Textile production with regional natural fibers

In the “workshop barn” at the Gschlössler organic farm, you will learn more about the background and history of the flax plant. In the workshop’s second part, it's your turn! Using old and modern equipment, we will show you how to make flax yarn from the flax stalks yourself and let you experiment with the various techniques. Let yourself be inspired by the small natural fiber exhibition in our barn. Experience a welcome break from everyday life and get in touch with this wonderful little fiber. We will provide you with basic knowledge by giving you the background to us, the farm, flax and its history as well as textile production in our flax workshop. We also use old equipment and modern tools such as e-spinning machines to show you how the individual processing steps are carried out. Then it's your turn to try it out for yourself and come into contact with the plant and the fiber. At the end, we will have time to exchange ideas and reflect.
