Norman Glatzer, born in 1993 in Berlin, is a mushroom expert. As the host of the YouTube channel "Buschfunkistan," he inspires hundreds of thousands of people with his knowledge of mushrooms, plants, algae, lichens, animals, and mosses from our natural environments.
In the latest book "Fast zu wild, um wahr zu sein: Unsere versteckten Biotope und wie man sie schützen kann" (Too wild to be true: Hidden habitats and how to protect them), together with author Vanessa Braun, they take us on a journey through the various biotopes and learn how the creatures in these places are connected in both large and small ways. We meet cunning orchids that turn the heads of many an insect with their nasty tricks and bittersweet shrews that kill their victims with their deadly saliva. But we also encounter the web of mutual aid between the most diverse species. This book teaches us to better understand the habitats of our natural world and awakens in us a sense of wonder, mindfulness and love for them. In this way, we recognise how we can protect these places of life and make them flourish again.
